Reading Circle

Has started for the 2010-2011 season. Next meeting is November 8th at the library at 7:30. Book for discussion is "Sixteen Brides" by Stephanie Grace Whitson. Everyone is welcome to participate in book discussions on a monthly basis. More information at the library.

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" movie at the library at 3 o'clock on Sunday, August 8th. Free Popcorn. Pop and water available at nominal cost. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket.

Swim Party

Summer Reading Swim Party! Friday, August 6 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Minden Pool! All reading program participants and their families are invited to this free swim night.

Summer Reading Activities begin Tues July 13th and are offered again on Thurs July 15th. Preschool through 1st grade will begin at 10 a.m. with stories, activities and crafts. The afternoon session for readers in 2nd grade and up will begin at 3 p.m.

Watch for Summer Reading Program information to come home with your K-6th grader some time this week.

Sign up begins Thursday, May 20th after school. Your young reader will need a new library card. This will only take a few minutes and is free for all young readers.

We will also be asking permission to photograph your child and/or use their photos for library promotions.

• Make a Splash---READ! summer reading program signup begins May 20th.

• Mad Scientist program May 28th at 4p.m.
  

• Friends of the Library are holding a raffle for a planter full of gardening goodies.
  

• Tickets are 5 for $5 and the donation not only gets you five chances on the raffle, but a membership in Friends of JML for the coming year.
  

• Drawing will be held May 24th, so don't wait too long!

Amnesty Week

Amnesty Week for overdue materials from the Jensen Memorial Library will be February 15th through February 20th. Bring in all overdue materials and we will forgive your fines on those materials. This does not apply to fines already on the computer.

FEBRUARY IS LOVE YOUR LIBRARY MONTH!

The "Love Your Library" tree is up. Through March 15th, take a pink or white valentine from the tree, and bring us the item listed on the Valentine. It can be new or gently used, or plucked off your own shelf. We will excuse any fines under your name on our computer.
